Emma + Simon
Duo | Trio
Emma + Simon have quickly carved out a reputation across Melbourne for effortlessly smooth and heartfelt renditions of modern classics and unique harmony-laden interpretations of well-known wedding favourites.
The couple met years ago when Simon decided to host an Open Mic Night in Emma’s hometown. By chance, the pair first crossed paths at a music store before bumping into each other hours later, guitars in hand at the venue. They’ve been inseparable ever since, on and off stage.
Emma studied music at the Victorian College of the Arts and her influences incorporate include the likes of Amy Winehouse, Jeff Buckley and Stevie Wonder, captured in performances rich with emotion and refreshing simplicity. Simon’s love of music started with playing drums and playing along to old blues albums by Eric Clapton and Dire Straits. Years later, incorporating guitar gave him the chance to combine songs by artists like Fleetwood Mac, Crowded House and John Mayer with the same layered grooves and rhythmic playing he’d grown up on.
Their most memorable moments are definitely shared onstage, performing together for special events and intimate occasions. Emma + Simon are also able to be paired with one of our Paper Hearts DJ's for the popular Duo/DJ combination package.

"Paper Hearts were incredibly professional, fun and personable. They created the prefect atmosphere beginning the night with a duet from Emma & Simon and then following the formalities we danced the rest of the night away with DJ Tom. Paper Hearts also Emceed our reception, delivering all personal touches beautifully. The team embraced all of our requests and were super adaptable to our changing time schedule. Thank you for helping to create the most perfect evening of celebrations for us, our families & friends."

"It was absolutely incredible!! The guys nailed the wedding songs. Unfortunately Krista and I didn't get to hear them much during canapés and entrees but Emma+Simon got rave reviews from all the guests. They made the event so special. The DJ Scott had the dance-floor packed from first dance to close!
I can't thank you all enough for helping to make the day so brilliant."

"Just wanted to send you a note to thank you, and Emma & Simon, for our wedding on Saturday. We had several people ask where we had found such fantastic musicians and comment on how beautiful the music was. Chris had really wanted live music at our wedding, and we couldn't have been happier with choosing Paper Hearts - Emma & Simon were exceptional.
Our only regret was that we were so excited and busy speaking with people that we couldn't just sit down and listen to them! Fortunately two of our guests are having Emma and Simon play at their wedding next month, so we are looking forward to being a bit more attentive listening to them then. It was really special to have them learn our two songs for us too, and I wish I hadn't of been quite so eager to get down the aisle so I could have listened a little longer!
Thanks also for all of your assistance responding to our emails and helping with the song choices form etc. It was all a smooth and lovely experience."
