Paper Hearts co-owner Ryan (from Amelia + Ryan) is a Melbourne-based marriage celebrant, wedding DJ and MC. Throw in some live acoustic music from Amelia + Ryan and you're in for the ultimate seamless ceremony-to-dancefloor experience.
Ryan crafts modern ceremonies, delivered with a fun, relaxed, positive vibe, and a sprinkling of light-hearted humour for good measure - check out the video examples below and via the socials!

Live acoustic duo option - along with wife / co-owner Amelia, the duo features delicious male/female vocal harmonies and the most beautiful blend of acoustic guitar and keyboard instrumentation.

CELEBRANT INCLUSIONS, IN A NUTSHELL
Our celebrant services includes everything you would expect, with Ryan expertly guiding you through the whole process from start to finish, including but not limited to:

Initial vibe check to discuss your wedding ceremony plans/ideas and see if we're a good fit (most often via Zoom)

In-person or virtual (as desired) meeting to complete/sign the NOIM (notice of intended marriage)

Couple to compete our 'couples questionnaire' and Ryan to send draft of ceremony script for review/feedback

Virtual catch up 3-4 weeks prior (via Zoom) to finalise your ceremony script, go through the 'on-the-day' logistics, answer any questions etc

Signing the DONLIM (declaration of no legal impediment to marry) on the day, just prior to the ceremony

Delivery of the legally binding civil marriage ceremony on the day, including professional sound equipment (battery powered PA speaker + wireless microphone)

Witnessing and signing the legal documents on the day, along with your 2x chosen witnesses (official certificates of marriage)

Lodging your marriage with the appropriate authority within 2 weeks of the wedding (i.e Births, Deaths & Marriages Victoria)
LIVE MUSIC + CELEBRANT, HOW DOES THAT WORK?
Pre-Ceremony Music
* 30 mins pre-ceremony music as guests arrive, including a mix of live acoustic duo music (1x15 mins set) + Spotify music
* Whilst the Spotify music portion is playing for guests, Ryan will liaise with the couple to sign the DONLIM, and discuss any final items with the relevant parties (i.e the couple, wedding party, venue coordinator, vendors, ring bearers, readers etc)
Ceremony Music
* Live duo performance as you walk down the aisle
* Amelia performs as a solo artist here (vocals/keys), as Ryan officiates the signing of the legal paperwork
* Live duo performance as you 'exit' as a newly married couple
Following the ceremony, it's onto the Canapés & Reception continuing as per the popular 'All the Feels' package.

“Can Ryan legally marry us and DJ/MC our reception?” Yes, he really is a quadruple threat!

"Will Ryan provide Spotify music for our ceremony + canapés hour if he's not booked as a acoustic live musician?" Absolutely - Ryan loves music and has your music needs totally covered even if he is booked for the 'triple threat' package as your Celebrant, DJ and MC. He can play your desired ceremony aisle/signing/exit songs via Spotify through his PA speaker, and continue to provide Spotify tunes over canapés hour through the same portable system. He'll of course be spinning tunes behind the DJ decks when the reception begins!

“Does Ryan MC all night?” Yes, Ryan will take care of all announcements from start to finish!

“Can we add Amelia + Ryan as a live duo for the ceremony, canapés hour and first half of the reception?" Yes, of course - this is our most common arrangement when booking Ryan as your celebrant - check out the 'seriously, all the feels' package!

“Who supplies the ceremony and reception audio?” We supply everything ourselves - for the ceremony, we have separate portable speakers for the celebrant vs acoustic duo, and the reception PA will already be set up ready to go prior to the ceremony, which makes our transition into the reception space as seamless as it gets!

“Can we choose must-play and do-not-play songs?” 100% yes - our comprehensive music form asks for these very things and much more, allowing us to truly personalise the music throughout the day/night for our couples!

“Do you work at Yarra Valley venues and venues outside of Melbourne?” We live in Yarraville, so we're super central and we travel to the Yarra Valley most weekends! We're also in a great location to get to the Bellarine Peninsula and greater Geelong wedding venues, so we love mixing it up across a range of venues/locations!

“What happens if there is a wet-weather relocation?” Our portable sound system can be relocated within a handful of minutes so you're in excellent hands and we'll do whatever we need to do on the day!

“What happens if there is a sound limiter / sound restrictions at our venue?" We'll work closely with your venue/coordinator to ensure we comply with all sound requirements and deliver the absolute best audio experience we can within the sound limitations.
